What is the correct length of your tie?
A tie is a real eye-catcher and with this you don't want to make a blunder. The choice of necktie knots is endless, but there is one important rule within the tie etiquette and that is the length of your tie!
A normal tie has a total length of +- 150 cm. This is an excellent choice for men up to 199 cm in length. For men who are taller we also have extra long ties at Ties4him.co.uk. These neckties are 165 cm.
The knot of the tie will influence the final length of your tie. Keep this in mind. For example, a single necktie knot needs less fabric than a double Windsor knot.
Before you start knotting the necktie we advise you to open the top button of your shirt and raise the collar. When you tie your necktie, it is important that the tip of the tie is about 1 cm above the belt. The blade of the tie should not come from under the tip.
When the tie is well knotted, close the top button of your shirt, fold the collar back down, then put on the tie carefully.
